All Art Prompts Have Been Claimed!

YAY! All art has been claimed!

Next thing I want to gauge is how much interest there is for another round of open claims... Is that something the artist and authors want? I know a few authors wanted to pick up another story... ((If I were to open another round of claims, it would be a small window and once again be first come, first serve.))

If I open another round, I will also allow anyone who didn't sign up to claim a prompt. I just ask that when you fill out the claims form, you please tell me what site (Tumblr/LiveJournal) your username is for.

If you are an artist and would wish for your art not be included in the second round, please email bluefire986@gmail.com and I will remove it from the Art Preview slides.

If we have enough interested in another OPEN round of claims, I will hold them on Tuesday, August 1st at 4pm EDT until 10pm EDT.

Okay, I'm gonna be the one to ask the stupid question... Huh??? Are you meaning another round with the same art? So any artist game would potentially have two stories written for their art? (which, as it happens, was something I was just thinking might be a cool idea) Or has my stressful and long-ass day truly left me brain dedz and uncomprehending of this post?

Yes. The same art with a chance of the artist getting two different stories for It. We had more authors then pieces of art. I also saw that some authors missed the sign ups and this would give them the chance to play with us as well. I also know some of the authors would really like another prompt to write for. In the past I have done two rounds of claims and most seem to like it...

The only things I am changing from the last time are; the choice for the artist to not have their art go for another round and that any author regardless if they signed up or not can claim in this round.

The only differents between this round and the last are not all prompt with get chosen and if the author drops I will not look for a pinch hitter to take their place. So please, if you claim another piece, think it though.

devil's advocate: this doesn't seem fair tbh. i thought claims were first come first serve only? those who didn't claim in time should only fill in if a writer drops out, that way they can still participate.

We had more authors than artists/art pieces. In the past I have run two rounds of claims to help make sure everyone could participate if they wanted. The second open round has always been a small window with a few claims. It is still first come first served and if the prompt you want is gone, then it really is gone.

So, just to confirm, because I'm not that bright, someone else could claim the same art that I'm writing for? Does that mean the artist would need to work with both writers and could end with additional pieces that are different for each story? I haven't seen that before.

Yes, your artist could have two different authors working on the same piece of art. The artist can then make different additional pieces for each author if they so feel like it. That is not to say the artist must.

I have done it in the past, especially when we have more authors than art pieces, just to ensure everyone who wanted to participate could.

That sounds like a good idea. Given the quick turnaround for a response, maybe artists should give positive consent that they are willing to work with two writers (rather than negative consent)? Otherwise, an artist could miss this post and would be surprised after the fact that they are now working with two different people.
